Nov 7, 2008September 2008 Best Month Ever for Frontier On-Time ArrivalsDepartment of Transportation statistics also show Frontier once again among industry leaders in key performance categories DENVER, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines enjoyed another strong showing in the Department of Transportation's (DOT) monthly "Air Travel Consumer Report", which details the operational performance of the country's 19 largest air carriers, including the 11 recognized major airlines. The DOT released its September 2008 stats on Friday. Frontier achieved its best on-time arrival performance in company history in September 2008, leading the industry with a 91.4% on-time arrival rate at the DOT's 32 largest airports. When looking at all domestic airports, Frontier led all major carriers, and trailed only Hawaiian Airlines among all airlines, in on time arrivals. September also marked the third consecutive month in which Frontier ranked among the top three major carriers in on-time performance. Frontier also finished first in flight completion factor among major carriers and second among all airlines, with only 33 cancellations out of 7,521 scheduled domestic flights. This is the 16th consecutive month Frontier has led major carriers in completion factor Other highlights of the September 2008 report include:
-- Frontier reported no flights on the DOT's "List of Shame," which
details flights that are chronically delayed or canceled (over 70% of
the time).
-- Frontier posted its best-ever baggage performance number (MBR). The
2.69 MBR ranked Frontier fourth among major carriers and fifth overall,
marking the third consecutive month Frontier has ranked among the top
five major carriers in baggage handling.
-- Frontier ranked second among major carriers and third overall in fewest
passenger complaints. Through the end of September, Frontier ranked
third among major carriers in fewest complaints filed with the DOT for
the year.
