Frontier Continues Strong Performance in August 2008
Department of Transportation statistics show Frontier among industry leaders in key performance categories again
DENVER, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Frontier Airlines once again led the recognized major air carriers in completion factor for the busy travel month of August 2008, while finishing near the top in several other categories, according to the most recent statistics released by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
According to the DOT's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report, Frontier finished first in flight completion factor, meaning Frontier cancelled fewer flights than any other major airline for the month of August. This is the 15th consecutive month Frontier has led the industry in completion factor.
Other highlights of the report include:
-- Frontier ranked third in on-time performance among major carriers, while experiencing near record load factors in August. It marked the third consecutive month the airline has finished in the top five.
-- Frontier reported no flights on the DOT's "List of Shame," which details flights that are chronically delayed or cancelled (over 70% of the time).
-- Frontier ranked third among the 19 reporting carriers in baggage performance, for least number of mishandled bags.
-- Frontier ranked fourth among major carriers for fewest customer complaints.
"Once again our employees deserve all the credit for this," said Frontier Chief Operating Officer Chris Collins. "We know our customers expect a superior level of safety and customer service from us, and our people continue to meet and exceed those expectations."
