Apr 6, 2006Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Traffic for March 2006DENVER, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for March 2006. Revenue passenger miles increased 14.5 percent to 736,783,000 for March 2006 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 11.9 percent to 906,194,000 for March 2006 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for March 2006 of 81.3 percent, an increase of 1.9 points from March 2005, when the airline reported a load factor of 79.4 percent. The airline carried 771,587 passengers during March 2006, an 18.1 percent increase from March 2005. The airline reported passenger yield of 11.09 cents for the month of March 2006, a decrease of 3.1 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger revenue per available seat mile was 9.02 cents, down .07 or 0.8 percent from March 2005. For the month of March 2006, the airline's average length of haul decreased 3.0 percent to 955 miles as compared to the same period last year.
