Aug 31, 2005Frontier Airlines Launches New Service to Dayton and FresnoDENVER (Aug. 31, 2005) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) will begin new service today between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Dayton International Airport (DAY) in Ohio, as well as to Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) in California. The two daily non-stops between Denver and Dayton and Denver and Fresno will be aboard 70-seat Canadair Regional Jets, operated by Horizon Air as Frontier JetExpress, and will offer dozens of connecting opportunities to Frontier cities throughout the East for Fresno and to over 20 cities to the West for Dayton. In addition, both cities will have connections to Frontier's popular Mexico destinations. "Dayton is an ideal market for Frontier because it is a community that is vastly underserved for low-fare, high quality air service, and we are proud to be their new gateway to the Western United States," said John Happ, senior vice president of marketing and planning. "Our new Fresno service comes as a result of that city's efforts to attract Frontier service by petitioning the Department of Transportation (DOT) under the Small Community Air Service grant program in 2004, when they asked specifically for assistance in bringing Frontier to the area to become the airport's first low fare service. With great partnerships in place with these two growing cities, we are confident that the enthusiasm we have seen in our bookings will continue long after we inaugurate our first flights today." "The Dayton community has told us time after time that they needed service to the West and that they wanted the low fares and great service of Frontier Airlines," said Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin. "Prior to Frontier starting new service to Denver, the further West we could get non-stop was Dallas, so this is truly a great day for us as Frontier opens up the West to Dayton with low fares and great service." "This is an exciting day for the City of Fresno and for the entire Central Valley region," said Fresno Mayor Alan Autry. "We welcome Frontier's excellent service and low-cost connections to the East. I am confident that the community's response will provide Frontier the opportunity to grow their presence and build a strong relationship with Fresno travelers."
