Jun 28, 2005Frontier Airlines Raises the Frequent Flyer Program Bar With the Launch of the More StoreDENVER (June 28, 2005) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today unveiled the More Store (www.frontiermorestore.com), a first-of-its-kind online miles shopping experience designed to provide Frontier's most frequent flyers (Ascent and Summit level members) with the ability to purchase unique lifestyle oriented merchandise with their miles. Items on the More Store will all be unrestricted, from best-in-class partners, and can either be bought outright or on bid on via an auction-style bidding process. For the store's grand-opening, Frontier hosted a launch event at Denver's Pepsi Center where they unveiled a brand new Mercedes M-class Sports Utility Vehicle from Murray Motor Imports, with a starting bid of only 10,000 miles! This low mileage level is indicative of another differentiator for the More Store: it won't cost members a million miles to get premium inventory. Other items available at the MoreStore include rounds of golf from many of the Nation's top golf courses; certificates to several of Denver's finest restaurants as listed on 5280 Magazines' Best of Denver survey; TUMI-brand luggage provided by Ebags; overnight packages at Denver's historic Brown Palace Hotel; high-end jewelry from John Atencio; premium tickets to Colorado Rockies baseball games; SprintPCS Vision Smart Device Treo 650s by Palm One; golf equipment and bicycles from Colorado Ski and Golf; and many other items. "To put it in simple terms, the More Store is a revolution in frequent flyer programs in that there is no other rewards tool in the industry that even comes close to it," said Frontier President and CEO Jeff Potter. "The More Store is a program that cements not only Frontier's position as a whole different animal, but also as an industry leader in rewarding loyalty, giving us a powerful way to thank those who have committed their travel dollars to Frontier by providing them with miles that have real value." "In this day and age, an airline travelers' loyalty is met with a hodge-podge of undecipherable restrictions, blackout dates, limited seats and a basic feeling that your loyalty is not really being recognized or rewarded," said Andrew Hudson, Frontier's Senior Director of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications. "Frontier is one of the few airlines that recognizes that true loyalty is established through a consistently different and better travel experience and now, through the More Store, loyalty on Frontier will be rewarded through a different and better rewards program." Randy Peterson, publisher and editor of InsideFlyer magazine and "... the most influential frequent flyer in America," according to the Wall Street Journal, commented, " . . . this interpretation of turning miles into merchandise and lifestyle benefits for members of frequent flyer programs just may be the best effort yet" (InsideFlyer, July 2005). Frontier's EarlyReturns frequent flyer program has already been recognized nationally for its low travel redemption rate. Travelers only need 15,000 miles to earn a free ticket to any of the 48 North American cities Frontier flies and only 25,000 miles for travel to any of its five Mexican destinations. In addition, Frontier travelers only need to fly 15,000 miles in one year to become a member of Frontier's premier Ascent program and only 25,000 flown miles to become a higher level Summit member. Each premier level offers escalating benefits depending on the status reached including perks such as free DIRECTV, free cocktails, a higher percentage of miles earned per-trip, special check-in and security lines, and priority seating and boarding.
