Frontier Airlines Expands Service to Mexico With Additional Frequencies, New Point-to-Point Flights
DENVER (May 20, 2004) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) has received approval from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin non-stop service between Cancun International Airport (CUN) and Kansas City International Airport (MCI), as well as Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The service, pending approval from the government of Mexico, will begin July 3, 2004 offering once-weekly Saturday flights to Cancun. Frontier currently flies between its Denver hub and five beach destinations in Mexico: Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Frontier has also applied to offer non-stop service between Cancun and St. Louis (STL), but has not yet received approval from the DOT to begin the service.
To celebrate the new service, Frontier is offering $99* one-way fares between Cancun and Kansas City and Cancun and Salt Lake City. Fares require a round-trip purchase and must be purchased by midnight EDT May 27, 2004 for travel by Sept. 25, 2004.
Frontier also announced added frequencies from its Denver (DEN) hub to several Mexico destinations for the peak winter season including the following:
"Mexico has proven to be an extremely popular destination for our customers and we are eager to offer the Salt Lake City and Kansas City communities their first, and currently only non-stop Cancun flights," said Sean Menke, senior vice president of marketing. "We are proud to be the largest carrier to Mexico from Denver and we look forward to continued expansion of the service to new markets outside of Denver so that even more customers can take advantage of Frontier's non-stop service to Mexico this winter."
Frontier is recognized throughout the nation for its unique customer amenities including low fares, new Airbus jets, 24 Channels of LiveTV and Frontier's generous EarlyReturns frequent flyer program that allows travelers to earn a free ticket at only 15,000 miles domestically and 25,000 miles to Mexico - the lowest in the aviation industry.
To kick off the new service to Cancun from Salt Lake City and Kansas City, Frontier is offering double miles to its EarlyReturns members who fly to Cancun from either Kansas City or Salt Lake City by August 28, 2004. To enroll in the program, customers can visit Frontier's Web site at www.frontierairlines.com, pick up an EarlyReturns enrollment form at any Frontier airport counter or call Frontier's EarlyReturns Service Center toll-free hotline at 866-26-EARLY or Frontier's reservations at 800-4321-FLY.
