Apr 4, 2003Frontier Airlines Hits a Home Run with the Colorado RockiesDenver (April 4, 2003) Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) has been named as Official Airline of the Colorado Rockies, Denvers major league baseball team. The three-year agreement provides the airline with various promotional opportunities, advertising inclusion, and in-stadium signage at Coors Field, where all Rockies home games occur. Signage opportunities include Rockies games that are broadcast nationally, providing additional exposure across Frontiers growing network. In addition, some of the teams travel, including travel by various front office staff, will occur on Frontier, whenever possible. Todays announcement pairs two well-known, Denver hometown entities, said Vice President of Marketing and Planning Sean Major League Menke. We are thrilled to partner with one of Denvers premier sports teams, and look forward to positioning Frontier in front of many baseball fans during the upcoming season. In addition, the positive third party association generated from partnering with a first-class organization like the Rockies is particularly meaningful to us as we embark on a branding campaign that focuses on the Denver community. "The Rockies take a great deal of pride in their relationship with the Denver community," said Greg Feasel, Rockies senior vice president of business operations. "This partnership with Frontier Airlines is a great opportunity for the club to associate itself with a business that has such strong local ties. As the 2003 season gets underway, we couldn't be more excited to welcome Frontier as a new member of the team." Frontier and the Rockies promotions include: Denver-based Frontier Airlines employs approximately 3,100 aviation professionals and is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport. Frontier and its regional jet partner Frontier JetExpress offer service to 39 cities. Frontiers fleet consists of 36 aircraft, which feature a single-class configuration. In 2002, for the fourth consecutive year, Frontier's maintenance and engineering department has received the Federal Aviation Administration's highest award, the Diamond Certificate of Excellence. This award signifies 100 percent of the airlines maintenance and engineering employees have completed advanced aircraft maintenance training programs. In April 2002, Entrepreneur ranked Frontier one of two "Best Low-Fare Airlines.
