Oct 4, 2002Frontier Airlines Announces Service to Mazatlan, MexicoDENVER (Oct. 4, 2002) - Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced service to its second international destination, General Rafael Buelna International Airport (MZT) in Mazatlan, Mexico. Frontier will operate two round-trip flights weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, between Denver International Airport (DEN) and MZT, beginning Dec. 21, 2002. Today's Mazatlan announcement follows Frontier's announcement that the airline will begin service to Cancun, Mexico on Dec. 20, 2002. Frontier has received approval from U.S. authorities to serve these new international destinations and the routes will be flown with the airline's new Airbus A319 aircraft. Including Mazatlan, Frontier and its affiliate Frontier JetExpress will serve 41 cities, 39 U.S. cities and two cities in Mexico. "Frontier will offer the only scheduled service between Mazatlan and Denver and we're very proud, as Colorado's hometown carrier, to bring our affordable fares and outstanding service to more than 40 cities across the country and now to our second international destination," said Sean Menke, vice president of marketing and planning.
