Frontier Airlines Announces Service to Cancun, Mexico

DENVER (Sept. 19, 2002) Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced details of its first international venture, with new non-stop service between its Denver International Airport hub (DEN) and Cancun International Airport in Cancun, Mexico (CUN), effective Dec. 20, 2002. Frontier will operate one daily non-stop flight between DEN and CUN and will offer convenient connections beyond Denver.

Earlier this year, the airline announced that it was seeking approval from U.S. and Mexican authorities to begin international service to Mexico; Cancun is the first international city to go on sale. The airline has received approval from the U.S. government and service will commence pending Mexican government approval. Including Cancun, Frontier and its affiliate Frontier JetExpress will serve 39 cities, 38 U.S. cities and one city in Mexico.

“We are thrilled to be adding service to Cancun as this beautiful and exotic destination marks Frontier’s first foray into the international marketplace,” said Sean Menke, vice president of marketing and planning. “Currently, non-stop, scheduled service between Denver and Cancun does not exist, and in true Frontier fashion, we look forward to bringing Frontier’s affordable fares now to and from Cancun - to travelers throughout our network.”
