Mar 15, 2002Frontier Airlines Named to Entrepreneur Magazine's "2002 Best Low Fare Airlines"DENVER (March 15, 2002) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) was recently named one of Entrepreneur Magazine's "2002 Best Low-Fare Airlines," as part of the publication's ninth annual Business Travel Awards. Entrepreneur's Business Travel Awards recognize travel-related companies, such as hotels, airlines and rental car providers, which offer value and quality. Frontier's distinction as one of the "2002 Best Low-Fares Airlines" appeared in the magazine's April 2002 issue. The airline was previously named "Best Domestic Low Fare Air Carrier" in the magazine's 1999 Business Travel Awards. Regarding Entrepreneur Magazine's selection of Frontier Airlines, Executive Editor Karen Axelton stated: "Frontier (is) an ideal choice not only for intra-west travelers, but for those on either coast looking for a low-cost alternative to the high fares major carriers charge for transcontinental trips. At a time when major airlines are reeling, low-fare carriers like Frontier Airlines continue to grow and prosper." Frontier President and COO Jeff Potter commented on the honor: "It is quite meaningful for Frontier to be recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine for the second time as this award truly reflects a company that is comprised of employees who value each other and our customers. I salute the employees of Frontier, who continue to act as entrepreneurs by utilizing their resourcefulness and innovation each day as they continue to build a successful airline that provides an affordable alternative for travelers throughout the country." Denver-based Frontier Airlines is the second largest jet service carrier at
Denver International Airport, serving 29 cities coast to coast with a fleet
of 30 aircraft and employing approximately 2,600 aviation professionals. In
June 2001, BusinessWeek ranked Frontier 14th on its list of Hot Growth
Companies and in September 2001, Fortune magazine ranked Frontier 41st
on its 100 Fastest Growing Companies list. In 1999, 2000 and 2001, Frontier's
maintenance and engineering department received the Federal Aviation Administration's highest award, the Diamond Certificate of
Excellence, in recognition of 100 percent of its maintenance and engineering
employees completing advanced aircraft maintenance training programs. Frontier
