Frontier Airlines Names Ronald L. McClellan Vice President - Maintenance and Engineering


DENVER (Jan. 9, 2002) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced that Ronald McClellan, 52, will assume the role of vice president of maintenance and engineering, effective Jan. 14. McClellan replaces Jon Bartram who has been acting in an interim-role as the vice president of maintenance and engineering since October 2001 and previously served in that capacity from 1994 to 2000. McClellan will oversee approximately 450 employees who perform the airline's heavy "C" check maintenance, line maintenance, engineering, machine shops and avionics functions, and will report to President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Potter.

"We are pleased to have Ron join the Frontier team and we welcome his vast experience as we continue our Airbus transition and growth plan," said Potter.

McClellan possesses over 30 years of aviation and maintenance experience, including five years with Kansas City, MO-based Vanguard Airlines as vice president of maintenance and engineering. He also served as Trans World Airlines' managing director of aircraft acquisition and held a number of key maintenance positions at Continental Airlines, People Express Airlines and New Jersey-based Executive Air Fleet, Inc. McClellan served two terms in the United States Air Force, including service as a crew chief with USAF THUNDERBIRDS from 1973-1975. He is also a licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic. He and his wife, Beverly, and two daughters currently live in Kansas City, MO and plan to relocate to Denver.
