Frontier Airlines Updates Operations Status

Denver (Sept. 12, 2001) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) currently anticipates resuming limited operations effective midday tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001. The resumption of service is dependent upon pertinent airport operations and the airline is working closely with federal aviation officials regarding enhanced security directives. The airline has cancelled all regularly scheduled passenger flights for tomorrow morning, Sept. 13, 2001 and today, Sept. 12, 2001, with the possible exception of flights, which were diverted to non-Frontier based cities, as a result of yesterday’s ground stop.

Further information on Frontier’s flight operations will be relayed tomorrow, Sept. 13, 2001, through the media and on the airline’s Web site at www.frontierairlines.com. Customers may contact the airline’s reservations center at 800-432-1359 for assistance.

When flights resume, due to heightened security measures, Frontier passengers must check in at the Frontier ticket counter two hours prior to their scheduled departure and should note the following Federal Aviation Administration required security precautions, which are in effect until further notice:

  • Curbside check-in at all airports has been suspended.
  • Only passengers holding either a printed Frontier ticketless confirmation letter, or a Frontier boarding pass or paper ticket will be allowed in the boarding area. If a Frontier passenger does not have one of these forms of documentation, they may request a faxed copy of the confirmation by calling Frontier reservations at 800-432-1359 or request a printed confirmation at the Frontier airport ticket counter.
  • Passengers are asked to limit their carry-on luggage to one carry-on item per person.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport, serving 23 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 27 aircraft and employing approximately 2,500 aviation professionals.
