May 10, 2000Frontier Airlines Names Manager, Kansas CityDENVER (May 10, 2000) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) has named Jeff Brookhart as city manager of its newest market, Kansas City, effective immediately. Brookhart brings over 16 years of airline management experience to Frontier and most recently served as director of station operations for Kansas City-based Vanguard Airlines. Brookhart, 38, will oversee the overall supervision of Frontier's operations at Kansas City International Airport and will report directly to Regional Director of Station Operations-Eastern Region Kevin Pederson. The airline plans to inaugurate service to Kansas City on June 15. "We are delighted to welcome Jeff to the Frontier family and look forward to opening our newest city under his proven leadership," said Vice President of Station Operations and Customer Service Red Barringer. "His experience in the Kansas City market brings a valuable perspective to Frontier's operation." The airline plans to contract its above- and below-wing services and Brookhart's primary responsibilities will include overseeing those contract employees. Brookhart's prior experience includes service as station manager of the Chicago, Kansas City, MO, Detroit and Providence, RI stations for Dallas-based Southwest Airlines and as regional manager for the Minneapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, MO and Des Moines, IA stations for Vanguard Airlines. He currently lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife, Jill, and two daughters, Hannah and Jenna. Denver-based Frontier Airlines serves 21 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 23 Boeing 737 jets and employs approximately 2,000 aviation professionals. Unlike other airlines, Frontier's low fares do not have a Saturday night stay requirement. In addition, Frontier offers frequent flyer miles in Continental Airlines' OnePass® program. In 1999, Frontier was named "Best Low-Fare Carrier" by Entrepreneur Magazine in the publication's sixth annual Business Travel Awards. Also in 1999, the airline received the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) prestigious Aviation Maintenance Technician Employers Diamond Certificate of Excellence Award, which provides special recognition to airlines that have 100 percent of eligible employees complete an advanced training aircraft maintenance training program.
