Frontier Airlines Announces Denver International Airport Expansion

DENVER (Oct. 7, 1999) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced it has signed a Letter of Intent with City and County of Denver (CCD) by which it will lease nine gates from CCD, effective March 1, 2000. The airline's potential agreement with CCD will increase its gate usage at Denver International Airport from five gates to nine gates, effective March 2000.

"The Denver community has provided the foundation for Frontier's growth over the last five years and for that we are extremely grateful," said Frontier President Sam Addoms. "The additional gates at DIA will help us as we continue building the necessary infrastructure to support Frontier's future growth. With the announcement of additional gates, Frontier will be able to expand its efforts to provide more affordable choices for consumers and increased job opportunities in the Denver community."

Denver-based Frontier Airlines commenced operations on July 5, 1994. Unlike other airlines, Frontier's low fares do not have a Saturday night stay requirement. In addition, Frontier offers frequent flyer miles in Continental Airlines' OnePass® program. The airline currently serves 21 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 19 Boeing 737 jets and employs approximately 1,800 travel professionals. Frontier was recently named "Best Domestic Low-Fare Air Carrier" by Entrepreneur magazine in the publication's sixth annual Business Travel Awards. Ernst & Young LLP recently presented Frontier Airlines with the Rocky Mountain Region Entrepreneur of the Year® Award in the services sector.
