DENVER (Sept. 30, 1999) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) has named Robert Weigele as Boston city manager, effective immediately. Weigele, 56, possesses 23 years of travel- and service-related experience and formerly served as ramp services supervisor at the airline's Denver hub. In his new position, he will report to Eastern Regional Director of Station Operations Kevin Pederson. His new responsibilities will include the overall supervision of Frontier's operations at Boston Logan International Airport.

"Bob's experience in other service-related sectors has already proven invaluable at our hub operation and we look forward to extending his leadership at the city manager level," said Vice President Station Operations and Customer Service Red Barringer.

Weigele's prior experience includes serving as president for Denver-based National Convention Services, a consulting group that managed hotel, airline and ground transportation contracts for corporations and associations. Other experience includes AMR Airline Services and Phoenix-based R&R Brokerage, Inc. Weigele is originally from Phoenix, AZ and is a former Phoenix police officer. From 1980 to 1985, he held the elected position of Maricopa County Constable. He attended Arizona State University and was a member of the U.S. Navy between 1960 and 1964. In 1976, Weigele received the Phoenix Rotary Club Award for Police Performance Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. He joined Frontier in 1998, and he and his wife Donna currently reside in Denver. Denver-based Frontier Airlines commenced operations on July 5, 1994. Unlike other airlines, Frontier's low fares do not have a Saturday night stay requirement. In addition, Frontier offers frequent flyer miles in Continental Airlines' OnePass® program. The airline currently serves 21 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 19 Boeing 737 jets and employs approximately 1,800 travel professionals. Frontier was recently named "Best Domestic Low-Fare Air Carrier" by Entrepreneur magazine in the publication's sixth annual Business Travel Awards. Ernst & Young LLP recently presented Frontier Airlines with the Rocky Mountain Region Entrepreneur of the Year® Award in the services sector.
