Aug 13, 1999Frontier Airlines Names Orlando City ManagerDENVER (Aug. 13, 1999) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) has named Anne Laboon as Orlando city manager, effective immediately. Laboon, 37, possesses 16 years of travel industry experience and formerly served as the airline's city manager in Boston. In her new position, she will report to Regional Director Kevin Pederson. Her new responsibilities will include the overall supervision of Frontier's operations at Orlando International Airport. "Anne has done an excellent job at our Boston station and we look forward to her leadership in our newest city, Orlando," said Red Barringer, vice president station operations and customer service. The airline plans to contract its above- and below-wing services and Laboon's primary responsibilities will include overseeing those contract employees. Laboon's prior experience includes serving as station agent with Aspen Airways in Grand Junction and Durango, Colo., as city manager for Mesa Airlines in Grand Junction and as sales agent for Denver-based London Square Travel. She began her career with Frontier in 1996, serving as customer service coordinator and station supervisor at the airline's Denver hub. Laboon and her fiancé Joel will relocate to Orlando. Denver-based Frontier Airlines commenced operations on July 5, 1994. Unlike other airlines, Frontier's low fares do not have a Saturday night stay requirement. In addition, Frontier offers frequent flyer miles in Continental Airlines' OnePass® program. The airline currently serves 20 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 19 Boeing 737 jets and employs approximately 1,700 travel professionals. Frontier was recently named "Best Domestic Low-Fare Air Carrier" by Entrepreneur magazine in the publication's sixth annual Business Travel Awards. Ernst & Young LLP recently presented Frontier Airlines with the Rocky Mountain region Entrepreneur of the Year® award in the services sector.
