Frontier Airlines Names Roger Sorensen Director - Denver Station Operations
DENVER (Oct. 20, 1998) -- ; Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced the promotion of Roger Sorensen to Director, Denver Station Operations. Sorensen formerly held the title of City Manager/Denver Hub. In his new role, he will be responsible for all aspects of Frontier's Denver operations, including overseeing Frontier's ticket counter, lost and found services, aircraft appearance, ramp operations and air freight division. Sorensen will report to Vice President Customer Service and Station Operations Red Barringer.
"Our Denver station is the focal point of Frontier's operation," said Barringer. "We operate a remarkably reliable airline with an excellent on-time percentage. Roger's leadership at our Denver station has been key to achieving these goals and, as we go forward, his expertise will help us maintain and improve these statistics."
Sorensen brings 22 years of airline experience to his new position, including several positions with the former Frontier, which operated between 1946 and 1986. Positions with the former Frontier include city manager, Boise, Idaho; city manger, West Yellowstone, Montana and district sales manger, El Paso, Texas. Sorensen held the position of city manager, El Paso for the new Frontier. In addition, his experience includes serving four years with United Airlines in a variety of capacities. Sorensen, a native of Lexington, Nebraska, and his wife Kathy have six children and 10 grandchildren.
Denver-based Frontier Airlines commenced operations on July 5, 1994. The airline currently serves 16 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 14 Boeing 737 jets and has approximately 1,100 employees. Frontier's website may be viewed at http://www.frontierairlines.com .
