Aug 10, 1998Frontier Named Official Airline of San Diego's Fleet WeekDENVER (Aug. 10, 1998) - - The Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce today announced Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) is the Official Airline of Fleet Week, a week-long event celebrating San Diego's sailors, marines, coast guardsmen and their families. Fleet Week is produced by the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce and runs from August 9 through August 16. Fleet Week attendees can visit Frontier's promotional booth during the Parade of Ships Salute to the Military at the Broadway Pier on Thursday, August 13 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Frontier representatives will also be available at the airline's booth during the Naval Ship Tours and Miramar Air Show Friday through Sunday, August 14 through 16, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Frontier employees will be available to answer travel questions, hand out promotional items and register attendees for trip giveaways to various Frontier destinations. "We recognize the important contribution our military personnel make every day and becoming the Official Airline of Fleet Week is a great way to show our appreciation," said Tom Allee, director of sales. "In addition, this event coincides with Frontier's re-entry into the San Diego market and we wanted to celebrate our newest destination with the entire San Diego community by participating in this important event." To commemorate its Official Airline of Fleet Week status, Frontier is offering special military fares for all active and retired military personnel and their eligible family members for travel originating or terminating in San Diego. Sample San Diego military fares are listed below:
Fares listed are only valid for travel originating or terminating in San Diego from August 13 through December 17, 1998. The above listed fares are one-way, based on a roundtrip purchase and must be paid for by August 24, 1998. These fares are subject to availability and certain blackout dates apply. Passenger facility charges of $3 to $12 are not included in these fares and some additional restrictions may apply. Frontier Airlines also offers other standard military discount fares that may be obtained by calling Frontier Airlines at 1-800-4321-FLY or a professional travel agent.
