Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Traffic for August 2006


DENVER, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for August 2006. Revenue passenger miles increased 17.9 percent to 773,215,000 for August 2006 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 15.9 percent to 980,922,000 for August 2006 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for August 2006 of 78.8 percent, an increase of 1.3 points from August 2005, when the airline reported a load factor of 77.5 percent. The airline carried 836,715 passengers during August 2006, a 22.3 percent increase from August 2005. The airline reported passenger yield of 11.30 cents for the month of August 2006, an increase of 6.8 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger revenue per available seat mile was 8.90 cents, up .70 cents or 8.5 percent from August 2005. For the month of August 2006, the airline's average length of haul decreased 3.5 percent to 924 miles as compared to the same period last year.
