Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Traffic for January 2006


DENVER, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for January 2006. Revenue passenger miles increased 10.6 percent to 575,024,000 for January 2006 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 13.1 percent to 870,032,000 for January 2006 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for January 2006 of 66.1 percent, a decrease of 1.5 points from January 2005, when the airline reported a load factor of 67.6 percent. The airline carried 603,649 passengers during January 2006, a 16.3 percent increase from January 2005. The airline reported passenger yield of 10.64 cents for the month of January 2006, an increase of 4.8 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger revenue per available seat mile was 7.03 cents, up .17 or 2.5 percent from January 2005. For the month of January 2006, the airline's average length of haul decreased 4.8 percent to 953 miles as compared to the same period last year.
