Oct 20, 2003Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary October 2003 TrafficDENVER (Nov. 6, 2003) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for October 2003. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 46.9 percent to 422,453,000 for October 2003 from the same period last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 13.0 percent to 577,910,000 for October 2003 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for October 2003 of 73.1 percent, an increase of 16.9 points from October 2002, when the airline reported a load factor of 56.2 percent. The airline carried 476,201 passengers during October 2003, a 52.5 percent increase from October 2002. The airline reported passenger yield of 11.20 cents for the month of October 2003, a decrease of 7.9 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger Revenue per Available Seat Mile (RASM) was 8.19 cents, up 1.35 cents or 19.7 percent from October 2002. "October has historically been a slower period for the airline industry, yet once again we exceeded our prior year traffic results, carrying more passengers than any October in our history," stated Vice President of Marketing and Planning Sean Menke. "Our strong passenger growth is a continuation of the positive revenue trends that we saw during the summer. In addition, we look forward to seeing the benefits of the enhanced visibility we received with several new college and professional sports sponsorships recently announced, as well as from our on-going initiatives to improve our customer service experience, including the launch of our FlexCheck web check-in and airport check-in kiosks." The following table represents comparisons for October 2003, and year-over-year comparisons for fiscal year-to-date and calendar year-to-date traffic results.
