Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary February 2003 Traffic

DENVER (March 6, 2003) Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for February 2003. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 38.2 percent to 280,212,000 for February 2003 from the same period last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 29.9 percent to 491,945,000 for February 2003 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for February 2003 of 57.0 percent, an increase of 3.4 points from February 2002. The airline carried 313,268 passengers during February 2003. The airline reported an average fare of $105 for the month of February 2003, a 20.5 percent decrease from February 2002, when the airline’s average fare was $132.

“Although the environment remains extremely competitive and demand for air service is weak, we carried more passengers during February 2003 than during any prior February to date. We have also experienced encouraging passenger response to the new fare structure we put into place in early February,” said Sean Menke, vice president of marketing and planning.
