Frontier Airlines Announces New College Sponsorships

Official Airline of Colorado State University, University of Colorado and University of Wyoming Athletics

DENVER, September 21, 2010 - Three of Frontier’s popular animals are drawing battle lines, sporting team colors and shouting fight songs across the tarmac in preparation for the 2010/2011 college sports season. Frontier Airlines today announced it is now the official airline of Colorado State University, University of Colorado and University of Wyoming athletics and has appointed Stanley the bighorn sheep, Humphrey the American bison and Sally the mustang as the official animals of these teams.

“These schools are an important part of the Rocky Mountain region where Frontier Airlines was born and bred,” said Ian Arthur, vice president of marketing and branding. “Frontier employs many alumni of these three schools and we look forward to forming long-lasting partnerships to provide students, faculty and alumni with Frontier’s different and better experience through athletic and academic partnerships and exclusive travel packages.”

The carrier will serve as the exclusive airline partner for football and men’s and women’s basketball at all three schools. The partnership will include a Frontier Day at both a CSU and CU football game where the airline will distribute thousands of promotional cards that can be used for discounted air travel. Frontier Day at CSU is Oct. 16, and Nov. 13 at CU.

Frontier inked three-year deals with each program lasting through the 2012/2013 season. Fans can expect to see Frontier signage at each of the school’s football and basketball facilities.
