Frontier Airlines Announces Colorado Springs Expansion

Frontier Adds Convenience and Low Fares on Four New Routes

DENVER, February 09, 2012 - Frontier Airlines today announces four new nonstop routes from Colorado Springs Airport (COS) to each of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Phoenix SkyHarbor Airport (PHX), Portland International Airport (PDX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in May.

The new nonstop flights enable southern Coloradans to save significant time and avoid connections getting to these top destinations from Colorado Springs. Frontier will operate the new routes with 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. These will be the only nonstop flights from southern Colorado to Phoenix, Portland, and Seattle, as well as the only nonstop service to Los Angeles on a low-fare carrier.

Flights to these new destinations are available for purchase today with introductory fares starting as low as $49* each way, including taxes and fees. For the first few days of sale you only can find these flights on FrontierAirlines.com, where you’ll always find our lowest available fare.

Members of Frontier’s EarlyReturns® frequent flyer program can earn double miles** for every qualifying flight they take on the new routes from Colorado Springs through June 30, 2012. Pre-registration is required. For details, visit FrontierAirlines.com/memberoffers.

“We’ve offered low fares to Colorado Springs for over four years and we’re delighted to offer low-fare, time-saving nonstop travel options to customers in both Colorado Springs and throughout southern Colorado,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “Our commitment to Colorado Springs extends far beyond the addition of these new markets. We look forward to becoming a bigger part of the southern Colorado community and serving as your hometown low-cost airline.”

“This is great news for everyone in Colorado Springs and throughout the Pikes Peak Region,” said Doug Quimby, interim CEO, Greater Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC. “The new nonstop service and lower fares will be key components in our efforts to recruit and retain businesses and grow our region’s economy.”

“The Colorado Springs Airport has had a great partnership with Frontier Airlines since 2008, and the addition of four new cities will only strengthen that relationship,” said Mark Earle, director of aviation, Colorado Springs Airport. “We look forward to working with Frontier to make the new service a success.”
